I am not lying when I say this is a very interesting play. It’s the tale of two compulsive fibbers who meet at a Liar’s Anonymous group, and what transpires between them. The show’s layered complex script – in which pretty much anything could be a lie – made this an intriguing watch, and it ended brilliantly. They are complex characters, but the actors handle them well and their performances are subtle, plus, given the small venue and no set, they utilised the full space well and successfully drew you into this story. There were issues – the lighting never fully worked, and the transitions between different scenes are a bit too fast, and it doesn’t really allow enough time for the audience to process a time jump or location change. However, overall – and I swear I’m being honest – It’s a very compelling show.

Paradise in Augustines, until 17 Aug.
